Irrfan Khan first appeared in ‘Salaam Bombay (1988), followed by many TV-serials, including ‘Darr,’ ‘Chanakya,’ ‘Chandrakanta,’and more.
Next, Irrfan appeared in several acclaimed films, including ‘Kamla ki Maut,’ (1989) and ‘Ek Doctor ki Maut’ (1990). His lappeared in the lead role in the British historical-film ‘The Warrior’ (2001), which helped him gain international exposure. His title role in the acclaimed film ‘Maqbool’ (2004) brought more recognition.
Irrfan’s first Bollywood-lead in ‘Rog’ (2005) and a negative role in ‘Haasil’ (2003) fetched accolades. His starrers ‘The Namesake’ (2006) and ‘Life in a…Metro’ (2007) were commercial success, the latter earning awards. He concurrently appeared in international films ‘A Mighty Heart’ and ‘The Darjeeling Limited’ in 2007, and the hit-movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (2008) which fetched acclaim.
In 2009, he appeared in ‘Acid factory,’ ‘New York,’ and ‘Billu.’ Thereafter, Irrfan featured in the American series ‘The Treatment’ (2010), ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ (2012), ‘Life of Pi’ (2012), ‘Jurassic World’ (2015), and ‘Inferno’ (2016).
Irrfan’s performance in ‘Pan Singh Tomar’ (2012) and ‘The Lunchbox’ (2013) earned him accolades. Thereafter, he appeared in ‘Gunday’ (2014), ‘Haider’ (2014), ‘Piku’ (2015), ‘Talvar’ (2015), and ‘Madaari’ (2016).
In 2017, he starred alongside Saba Qamar in ‘Hindi Medium’ (2017), which fetched praise, followed by ‘Qarib Qarib Single’ (2017), ‘Karwan’ (2018), ‘Blackmail’ (2018), and ‘Angrezi Medium’ (2020).
