Martin James Landau was an ‘Oscar’ winning American actor, producer, acting coach, and cartoonist. He is remembered for his role as ‘Bela Lugosi’ in ‘Ed Wood’ (1994). He made his acting debut in the ‘Broadway’ production of ‘Middle of the Night’ (1959).Â
He made his film debut in ‘Pork Chop Hill,’ in 1959. His first significant role came in Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘North by Northwest’ (1959). He was also seen in films, such as ’Cleopatra’ (1963), ‘Nevada Smith’ (1966), ‘The Last Word’ (1979),’The X-Files’ (1998), ‘The Majestic’ (2001), ‘City of Ember’ (2008), and ‘The Red Maple’ (2016).Â
He won an ‘Academy Award’ for ‘Ed Wood’ (1994). He earned two more ‘Academy Awards’ nomination for ‘Tucker: The Man and His Dream’ (1988) and ‘Crimes and Misdemeanors’ (1989), respectively.Â
He was last seen in the 2017 film ‘Without Ward.’ He also made appearances in more than 40 shows, including ‘Without a Trance’ (2004-09) and ‘Entourage’ (2006-08).
