Private investigator, Harry Angel, is hired by Louis Cyphre to track down a crooner professionally known as Johnny Favorite. Eventually his enquiries lead him to New Orleans, where he learns that Favorite was involved in black magic. But surprisingly everybody he meets in the course of the investigation encounters a tragic death.
