Joely Fisher is best known for starring in popular television shows like ‘Ellen’, Wild Card, and ‘Til Death. She made her film debut in the 1987 comedy-drama ‘Pretty Smart,’ in which she played the role of ‘Averil.’ The film also starred her sister, Tricia. Joely made her TV debut on an episode of the science fiction show ‘Something is Out There’ (1988). She went on to make brief appearances in television shows like 'Starting from Scratch’ (1989), ‘Growing Pains’ (1990), ‘Blossom’ (1992), and ‘The Golden Palace’ (1993).Â
The year 1994 proved to be a fruitful one for Joely Fisher. She made her return to the big screen with James L. Brooks-directed satirical comedy-drama film ‘I'll Do Anything.’ While the movie earned a mixed response from the critics, it ultimately failed at the box office. Her second release that year was the dark comedy ‘Mixed Nuts,’ where she played the role of ‘Susan.’ The film was a critical and box office failure. The same year, Joely got her breakthrough role as ‘Paige Clark’ in the television sitcom ‘Ellen.’ She earned a lot of praise for her performance and remained a part of the show till 1998.Â
In 1998, Joely appeared in 3 television films, including ‘Icebergs: The Secret Life of a Refrigerator’, ‘Perfect Prey,’ and ‘Thirst.’ She continued to star in television shows and films, such as ‘Love, American Style’ (1999), ‘Grosse Pointe’ (2000), ‘Danny’ (2001), and ‘Baby Bob’ (2002-2003). In 2003, Joely Fisher starred as ‘Zoe Busiek’ in the comedy-drama series ‘Wild Card.’ She was a part of the main cast and remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2005. After ‘Wild Card,’ Joely Fisher found her next leading role in the television sitcom ‘Til Death’ where she played the character of ‘Joy Stark.’  Â
Joely Fisher went on to appear in the popular television series and shows like ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ (2011), ‘RuPaul's Drag U’ (2012), ‘Celebrity Name Game’ (2014-2015), ‘Last Man Standing’ (2014-2016), and ‘Modern Family’ (2016). She last appeared on television in the procedural drama series ‘9-1-1’ in 2019.Â
Apart from television, Fisher has also featured in several films. Some of her popular films are ‘I'll Do Anything’ (1994), ‘The Mask’ (1994), ‘Inspector Gadget’ (1999), ‘Slingshot’ (2005), ‘Cougar Club’ (2007), ‘You’ (2009), and ‘The Tribes of Palos Verdes’ (2017).Â
