American actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld made her debut in acting as a child artist. Her first notable role was that of Mattie Ross in the American Revisionist Western film ‘True Grit’ (2010) that fetched her Oscar nomination. Since then she has featured in many other notable films like ‘Ender's Game’ (2013), ‘Begin Again’ (2013) and ‘3 Days to Kill’ (2014). She has also thrived in making her presence felt as a singer with hit singles ‘Love Myself’ (2015) and ‘Starving’ (2016).
She may be a well-known actress of the day; however Hailee too had her share of hiccups in getting a foothold in the showbiz initially. Although she forayed into acting at eight years of age, she started garnering attention and success only after a few years. She has starred in many blockbuster and top grossing films, however has also remained part of films considered as box office flops.
Her success story includes films like ‘Ender's Game’, ‘Begin Again’, ‘3 Days to Kill’, ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ (2015) and ‘The Edge of Seventeen’ (2016) and the singles ‘Starving’ and ‘Love Myself’. The box office failures of Hailee include the historical period drama film ‘The Homesman ‘(2014).
