Elle Macpherson began her career as a model for ‘Tab,’ a diet cola soft drink. She established herself as the ‘girl next door’ and quickly rose to being featured on major magazine covers, including ‘Glamour,’ ‘Elle,’ ‘Cosmopolitan,’ ‘Harper's Bazaar,’ ‘Time,’ and ‘Vogue.’
She made her film debut in ‘Sirens’ in 1994. The film was well-received. She then starred in ‘Alice’ that earned mildly positive reviews. In 1997, she starred in the superhero film ‘Batman & Robin.’ The film did not perform at the box-office and failed to impress the critics which declared the film as one of the worst superhero films of all time. She followed this with the survival film ‘The Edge,’ which received mixed to positive reviews from critics. She also appeared in the romantic comedy-drama film ‘The Mirror Has Two Faces.’
