Demi Lovato is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who debuted as a child artist in the children's television series ‘Barney & Friends’ (2002–2004). She gained fame with the 2008 Disney Channel television film ‘Camp Rock’, which also launched her as a singer with the single ‘This Is Me’. At the same time, she auditioned for and was selected to play the lead role of Allison ‘Sonny’ Munroe in the sitcom ‘Sonny with a Chance’ (2009-11).
Her successful television films include ‘Princess Protection Program’ (2009) and ‘Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam’ (2010). She also guest starred on television shows like ‘Grey's Anatomy’ (2010), ‘America's Next Top Model’ (2010), and ‘Punk'd’ (2012). She appeared as a Judge and Mentor on two seasons of ‘The X Factor’ in 2012-13. In 2013, she was cast in a recurring role in the fifth season of the musical drama ‘Glee’.
Her short filmography over the past two decades consists mostly of concert films, documentaries and voice roles in animated movies. One of her best roles is that of Smurfette, the lead character in ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’ (2017). She is also the voice of Lenore in the upcoming animated film ‘Charming’.
Smurfs: The Lost Village is an animated adventure comedy film which tells the story of a group of friends who search for a lost village, in the Forbidden Forest, with the help of a mysterious map. When Gargamel, an evil wizard, comes to know about it, he thinks of a plan to stop them.
