Debra Jo Rupp started her career as a stage actor in the 80s. She made her acting debut in the TV show ‘All My Children’ in 1980. In 1987, Debra appeared in the crime drama series ‘Spenser: For Hire.’ That same year, she also made an appearance in the sitcom ‘Kate & Allie.’ The following year, she made her big-screen debut in the fantasy comedy film ‘Big,’ directed by Penny Marshall. The film received critical acclaim upon release and became a phenomenal box office success.Â
Debra then appeared in television series such as ‘The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd’ (1988), ‘Davis Rules’ (1991), ‘Civil Wars’ (1991), and ‘Blossom’ (1992). In 1993, she starred as ‘Sister Mary Incarnata’ in the sitcom series ‘Phenom.’ She remained a part of the show till 1994. Debra Jo Rupp got her breakthrough role as ‘Kitty Forman’ in the period sitcom ‘That '70s Show.’ She was a member of the main cast and earned considerable fame for her performance in the show. Debra remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2006.Â
In 2010, Debra joined the main cast of the television sitcom ‘Better with You.’ She played the role of ‘Vicky Putney’ in the show which earned her a lot of praise. She was next seen in television series like ‘Hart of Dixie’ (2013), ‘Elementary’ (2017), ‘Hotel Transylvania: The Series’ (2017-2020), ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ (2017), ‘I Feel Bad’ (2019), and ‘Grey's Anatomy’ (2020).
Apart from television, Debra has also appeared in several movies such as ‘Clockwatchers’ (1997), ‘Spymare’ (2006), ‘Kickin’ It Old School’ (2007), ‘She’s Out of My League’ (2010), ‘She Wants Me’ (2012), and ‘Super Buddies’ (2013).Â
In 2021, Debra Jo Rupp joined the ongoing anthology television docuseries of specials named ‘Marvel Studios: Assembled.’
