Actor, director, and writer Danny Huston began his career directing the movie ‘Mr. North’ (1988) starring actors Robert Mitchum, Anthony Edwards, and his sister Anjelica Huston. The movie was an adaptation of playwright Thornton Wilder's play ‘Theophilus North.’ In 1995, he played Bartender #2 in the drama film ‘Leaving Las Vegas.’ The same year, he directed the film ‘The Maddening.’ In 1996, he directed the movie ‘The Ice Princess.’ The following year, he played Stephan in the period drama ‘Anna Karenina.’
In 1998, Danny Huston played John in the comedy film ‘Spanish Fly’ and Gambler #2 in the black comedy film ‘Susan’s Plan.’ He welcomed the new millennium with a small role in the experimental film ‘Timecode’ in 2000. The same year, he appeared in the independent drama film ‘Ivans Xtc,’ in which he played Ivan Beckman, a successful film agent working in Los Angeles. The film received positive reviews and he was nominated for the Best Male Lead at the Independent Spirit Awards.
Danny Huston played the role of aviation pioneer Jack Frye in the epic biographical drama film ‘The Aviator,’ starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Blanchett in 2004. He then appeared as Sandy Woodrow in Fernando Meirelles' drama thriller film ‘The Constant Gardener’ in 2005. He received the Golden Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor for this role. The next year, he played Orson Welles in the political thriller drama film ‘Fade to Black,’ directed by Oliver Parker.
In the late 2000s, he appeared in the films ‘How to Lose Friends & Alienate People’ (2008), ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ (2009), and ‘Edge of Darkness’ (2010). In 2010, he also acted in the action film ‘Robin Hood’ as Richard the Lionheart and the mystery historical drama film ‘The Conspirator’ as Joseph Holt.
In the early 2010s, Danny Huston acted in the biographical film ‘Playoff’ (2011), ‘Two Jacks’ (2012), ‘Stolen’ (2012), and ‘Hitchcock’ (2012). In 2014, he played Alex in the Indian drama film ‘Tigers.’ He starred in and directed the drama film ‘The Last Photograph’ in 2017. The same year, he played General Erich Ludendorff in the superhero film ‘Wonder Woman.’ His role as Donald Anderton in the 2018 action comedy film ‘Game Night’ was much loved by the audience. In 2019, he played Matthew C. Perry in the historical adventure drama film ‘Samurai Marathon.’ The actor is set to appear in the film ‘Across the River and Into the Trees’ in near future.
