Bob Hoskins was an English actor. Following an appearance in a stage production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (1968), he did a few minor film roles. His first lead film role as an actor was in 'The Long Good Friday' (1980) for which he earned a BAFTA Award nomination. This was followed by 'The Honorary Consul' (1983) which was successful in Europe.
In his entire career, the actor appeared in several hit movies including 'Brazil' (1985), 'Mona Lisa' (1986), 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' (1988), 'Mermaids' (1990), 'Hook' (1991), 'Michael' (1996), 'Spice World' (1997),'Maid in Manhattan' (2002) and 'A Christmas Carol' (2009). He also had many flop films such as 'Lassiter' (1984), 'A Prayer for the Dying' (1987), 'Heart Condition' (1990), 'Nixon' (1995), 'Parting Shots' (1999), 'Beyond the Sea' (2004) and 'Son of the Mask' (2005).
Hoskins also contributed to television, both as an actor and voice artist. His TV credit includes 'On the Move' (1975), 'The Forgotten Toys' (1995–1999), 'The Englishman's Boy' (2008) and 'The Street' (2009).
