Scott Edward Adkins made his acting debut in the TV-series ‘Danger Field’ (1998), followed by ‘City Central’ (1999), and a recurring role in BBC’s ‘Doctors’ (2000). His first film appearance was a small role in Jackie Chan-starrer ‘The Accidental Spy’ (2001), and Hong Kong’s martial-arts film ‘Extreme Challenge’, and ‘Pure Vengeance’ (both 2001).
Adkins appeared in the Hong Kong action-film ‘Black Mask 2: City of Masks’ (2002), and ‘The Medallion’ (2003). Concurrently, he also worked on ‘The Big Breakfast’ (2001), ‘EastEnders’ (2003), a main role in the drama-series ‘Mile High’ (2005), and as series-regular in ‘Holby City’ (2006).
Thereafter, Adkins starred in many movies, including ‘Pit-Fighter’ (2005) and ‘Stag Night’ (2008). His negative role as MMA-fighter ‘Boyka’ in the martial-arts film ‘Undisputed II: Last Man Standing’ (2006) brought recognition, sequel ‘Undisputed III: Redemption’ (2010), and guest-appearances in mainstream films like ‘Pink Panther’ (2006), ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ (2007), a villainous role in ‘The Shepherd: Border Patrol’ (2008) and action-thriller ‘The Tournament’ (2009). He was the body-double for Ryan Reynolds in ‘X-Men: Wolverine’ (2009).
Adkins played the lead in many direct-to-video films, including ‘Assassination Games’ (2011), ‘Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning’ (2012), ‘Home Invasion’ (2016) and more. In the action-fantasy ‘The Legend of Hercules’ (2014), he essayed ‘King Amphitryon.’ He had a recurring role in the series ‘Metal Hurlant Chronicles’ (2012-2014).
After appearing in the action-film ‘The Expendables-2’ (2012), the thriller ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ (2012), the Chinese war-film ‘Wolf Warrior’ (2015), and the superhero-film ‘Doctor Strange’ (2016), Adkins reprised the role of ‘Boyka’ in martial-arts film ‘Boyka: Undisputed’ (2017). He was the writer-producer-star in the action-thriller ‘Accident Man’ (2018).
Adkin’s recent starrers include ‘IP Man-4: The Finale’ (2019), and the action-thriller ‘Dead Reckoning’ (2020).
