Michael C. Hall was first seen in the American television soap opera ‘As the World Turns’ in 1999. In 2001, he became a part of the American drama television series ‘Six Feet Under’ where he played the role of David Fisher. The series ran for 5 seasons and aired its final episode in 2005. Hall made his big-screen debut in the 2003 American science fiction action film ‘Paycheck’ directed by John Woo. Despite being largely panned by critics, the film turned out to be a commercial success, grossing over $117.2 million on a $60 million budget. After starring in television films like ‘Bereft’ (2004) and ‘Mysteries of the Freemasons’ (2006), he joined the main cast of the American crime drama television series ‘Dexter.’ He portrayed Dexter Morgan in the series which earned him several awards including the ‘Satellite Award’ and ‘Saturn Award.’ The show ran for 7 years and went off-air in 2013. He played the role of ‘Ken Castle’ in the 2009 American science fiction action film ‘Gamer’ directed by Neveldine/Taylor. The film saw mostly negative reviews and received a 30% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2011, he appeared in the American comedy-drama film ‘Peep World’ where he played the role of ‘Jack Meyerwitz.’ The film was marred by negative reviews from critics.Â

In 2021, he reprised his role as ‘Dexter Morgan’ in the American crime drama mystery miniseries ‘Dexter: New Blood.’ The series aired its final episode in 2022.
