David Albert Mazouz began appearing in commercials at young age of 8. His first screen appearance was in TV-film ‘Amish Grace’ (2010) (a film about the forgiveness of Amish community after the West Nickel Mines School shooting). He played guest-roles in popular sitcom ‘Mike & Molly’ (2010), medical-drama series ‘ Private Practice’ (2011), crime-drama series ‘Criminal Minds’ (2011) hit sitcom ‘The Office’ (2011) and ‘Major Crimes’ (2012).
Mazouz’s first feature-film appearance was as ‘Timmy’ in ‘Coming and Going’ which was filmed in 2009, but got released in 2011. In 2012, he was cast as Kiefer Sutherland’s character’s mute son ‘Jacob ‘Jake’ Bohm’ in drama-series ‘Touch’ (2012-2013). His performance brought appreciation and nomination for ‘Young Artists Award for Leading Young Actor.’
After appearing in horror-anthology film ‘Sanitarium’ (2013) and the TV-film ‘Dear Dumb Diary’ (2013), Mazouz co-starred with Joseph Fiennes and Ed Asner in the adventure-film ‘The Games Maker’ (2014), and played the lead in the 2016 supernatural horror films ‘The Darkness’ as ‘Michael Taylor’ and ‘Incarnate’ as ‘Cameron Sparrow.’
Mazouz gained popularity as ‘Young Bruce Wayne’ (or teenage years of Batman) in the superhero crime-drama series ‘Gotham’ (2014-2019), earning nominations for ‘Teen Choice Awards’ and ‘Saturn Awards.’ This Batman-prequel series depicted the younger days of Batman as he dealt with his parents’ murder and subsequent transformation to Batman.
Mazouz made guest appearances on the TV series ‘Drop Dead Diva’ (2014), ‘Family Guy’ (2017), and the podcast series ‘Day by Day’ (2020). His latest film appearance was in crime-thriller ‘The Birthday Cake’ (2021).
A single mother feels that her 11-year old son might be possessed by a demon. Eventually, a wheelchair- bound scientist named Dr Seth Ambers is called to investigate. He tries to enter the boy’s mind, where he confronts a demon with powers he has never seen before.
