Nathan Kress made his screen debut in the 1998 George Miller-directed comedy-drama adventure film ‘Babe: Pig in the City’ where he voiced ‘Tough Pup.’ The film received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office disappointment. In 2005, he appeared in the American computer-animated science fiction comedy film ‘Chicken Little’ directed by Mark Dindal. While the film received a lukewarm response from critics, it still managed to gross over $314.4 million at the box office. That same year, he also joined the American late-night talk show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ created by Jimmy Kimmel. He starred in 5 episodes and remained on the show until 2006. He continued to star in television series and shows such as ‘House’ (2005), ‘Shuriken School’ (2006-2007), ‘Without a Trace’ (2007), ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody’ (2007), and ‘Drake & Josh’ (2007). In 2007, he joined the main cast of the American teen sitcom ‘iCarly’ as ‘Freddie Benson.’ The series ran for 6 seasons and aired its final episode in 2012. He was next seen in television films and series like ‘Gym Teacher: The Movie’ (2008), ‘Glenn Martin, DDS’ (2010), ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ (2010), ‘The Penguins of Madagascar’ (2010), ‘Victorious’ (2011), ‘Figure It Out’ (2012), ‘Mr. Young’ (2013), ‘Major Crimes’ (2014), and ‘Growing Up Fisher’ (2014).Â
In 2014, he starred as ‘Trey’ in the American found footage disaster film ‘Into the Storm’ directed by Steven Quale. The film received a mixed response from critics but managed to gross over $161.7 million on a budget of $50 million. He next appeared in television series like ‘Star Wars Rebels’ (2016-2017), ‘Game Shakers’ (2017), ‘LA to Vegas’ (2018), and ‘Pinky Malinky’ (2019). In 2021, he reprised his role as ‘Freddie Benson’ in the American comedy revival series, ‘iCarly.’ The series was renewed for a third season in 2022.
