Caterina Murino was first seen in the 2002 comedy-drama television film ‘Il giovane Casanova’ directed by Giacomo Battiato. That same year, she also made her silver screen debut in the Luis Sepúlveda-directed comedy-drama ‘Nowhere.’
In 2004, she portrayed ‘Léa’ in the French comedy film ‘The Corsican File’ directed by Alain Berbérian. The film was inspired by a comic book of the same name. That same year, she also joined the cast of the romance drama television series ‘Orgoglio.’ She played the role of ‘Franca Baldini / Baldini’ and starred in 9 episodes.
Caterina Murino was next seen in the 2006 Argentine- Spanish mini TV series ‘Vientos de agua’ where she starred as ‘Sophie.’ That same year, she also portrayed ‘Solange Dimitrios’ in the spy film and the twenty-first installment of the James Bond series, ‘Casino Royale.’ The film opened to wide critical acclaim and grossed over $616.5 million on a $150 million budget.
In 2007, she starred as ‘Miss Maupassant’ in the British comedy film ‘St Trinian's,’ directed by Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson. Even though the film opened to a mixed critical reception, it turned out to be a financial success and went on to become one of the highest-grossing British independent films.
