Emilia Clarke was first seen in the Episode: "Empty Nest" of the British medical soap opera ‘Doctors’ in 2009. The following year, she starred as ‘Savannah Roundtree’ in the television film ‘Triassic Attack’ directed by Colin Ferguson. The film received mostly negative reviews from critics. In 2011, she joined the main cast of the American fantasy drama television series ‘Game of Thrones’ created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. She played the role of ‘Daenerys Targaryen’ which earned her several awards including the ‘Empire Award,’ ‘EWwy Award,’ and ‘Saturn Award.’ The show ran for 8 seasons and aired its final episode in 2019. Clarke starred as ‘Sally Harris’ in the 2012 British comedy film ‘Spike Island’ directed by Mat Whitecross. The film received a mixed response from critics and scored a 48% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The following year, she appeared in the British black comedy–crime drama film ‘Dom Hemingway’ which also received mixed reviews. In 2016, she starred as ‘Louisa Clark’ in the romantic drama film ‘Me Before You’ directed by Thea Sharrock. Even though the film opened to a mixed reception, it was a massive box office success, grossing over $208.3 million on a $20 million budget. She continued to star in films like ‘Voice from the Stone’ (2017), ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ (2018), ‘Above Suspicion’ (2019), and ‘Last Christmas’ (2019). She was last seen in the 2020 horror thriller film ‘Murder Manual’ where she played the role of ‘Malu.’ The film received mostly negative reviews from critics. She will be next seen in the upcoming 3D computer-animated fantasy-comedy film ‘The Amazing Maurice’ where she will voice ‘Malicia.’ Clarke will also appear in the upcoming American television miniseries ‘Secret Invasion.’
