English singer and actor, Lee Ryan gained fame as the member of the boy band Blue. As an actor, he first appeared in an episode (‘Too Much Too Young’) of the third season of the medical drama series ‘Holby City’ in 2000. In it, he played the role of Arian Kirkwall. In 2006, he voiced the character of Eddie in the Italian dub version of the film ‘Ice Age: The Meltdown’. Additionally, he also lent his voice to the character in the 2006 ‘Ice Age 2: The Meltdown’ video game. Following this, he lent his voice to the same character in the Italian dub version of the 2009 film ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’, the 2012 film ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift’ and 2016 film ‘Ice Age: Collision Course’. The last of these bagged him the Ischia Dubbing Award at the ‘Ischia Global Film & Music Festival’.
In 2007, he appeared as a contestant in the ITV’s cookery reality show ‘Hell's Kitchen’ and was also seen as himself in an episode of the 9th season of the paranormal reality series ‘Most Haunted’. The year 2009 saw him portraying the role of Reuben in the Marcus Warren directed thriller film ‘The Heavy’. In 2013, together with fellow band member Duncan James, Lee Ryan was seen in an episode of comedy panel show ‘Through the Keyhole’ and the following year he entered the 13th season of the reality show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ as a contestant. From the latter, he was evicted on day 24 in a live surprise eviction.
In 2017, Lee Ryan was roped in to play the role of Woody Woodward in the BBC soap opera ‘EastEnders’. His role, that was initially meant to be a short one, was later made a regular one and he played the character in 63 episodes till 2018. For his performance in the show, he got a nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2017 ‘Inside Soap Award’. In 2018, he participated as a contestant in BBC’s dance reality show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ wherein he was paired with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova. He was eliminated from the show in the third round. The next year, he was seen in the dating reality show ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
In 2022, Lee Ryan participated in another dance reality show – this time in the E4 dance series, ‘The Real Dirty Dancing’. He was paired with the social media star Saffron Barker. The two were crowned the winner of the show.
