Frank and April Wheeler appear completely happy and in love but Frank hates his job and April is frustrated with her failing ambition. They decide to move to Paris but April’s pregnancy and their affairs make things complicated. Ultimately, April dies while trying to perform a self-vaccum aspiration abortion and Frank is left a shell of a man.
