Charles Joel Nordstrom Kinnaman made his screen debut as a child-artist in the Swedish soap-opera ‘Storstad’ (1990). He began his career with several Swedish films, including ‘Hannah Med H’ (2003).
Kinnaman received recognition with the romantic-drama ‘In Your Veins’ (2009), and the crime-film series ‘Johan Falk’ (6 films in 2009), which earned him nominations. His performance in the Swedish crime-thriller ‘Easy Money’ got him awards and international popularity.
He subsequently appeared in a prominent role in the adapted American series ‘The Killing’ (2011). Kinnaman made his international film debut with the alien invasion-thriller ‘The Darkest Hour’ (2011), and the psychological-thriller ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ (2011).
In 2012, Kinnaman starred in the action-thriller ‘Safe House,’ the romantic-comedy ‘Lola Versus,’ the sequel to ‘Easy Money,' and 5 ‘Johan Falk’ movies. He also appeared in the hit action-film ‘RoboCop’ (2014), followed by the action-thriller ‘Run All Night,’ the mystery-thriller ‘Child 44,’ and the drama-film ‘Knight of Cups.’
Thereafter, Kinnaman featured in the superhero film ‘Suicide Squad’ (2016) and its 2021 sequel. Further, he starred in thrillers- ‘Edge of Winter’ (2016), ‘The Informer’ (2019), ‘The Secrets We Keep’ (2020), and the crime-drama ‘Brothers by Blood’ (2020).
Kinnaman appeared in the streaming TV series ‘House of Cards’ (2016), ‘Altered Carbon’ (2018), ‘Hanna’ (2019), and ‘For All Mankind’ (2019--).
