Gary Dourdan started his acting career in regional theatre. He appeared in some music videos, before making his television debut in 1991 in the sitcom series ‘A Different World.’ The following year, he made his big-screen debut in the television film ‘The Good Fight.’ After playing small roles in films like ‘Weekend at Bernie's II’ (1993), ‘The Paper’ (1994), and ‘Sunset Park’ (1996), Dourdan got his first major role as ‘Christie’ in the 1997 science fiction horror film ‘Alien Resurrection.’ The film opened to positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success.
In 2000, Dourdan got his breakthrough role as ‘Warrick Brown’ in the procedural forensic crime drama television series ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.’ For his performance, he won 2 ‘NAACP Image Awards’ and a ‘Screen Actors Guild Award.’ He starred in 183 episodes and remained a part of the series till 2008. Following his success in ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ Dourdan appeared in television series like ‘Mistresses’ (2013), ‘Glee’ (2014), ‘Being Mary Jane’ (2015), ‘Power’ (2018), and ‘Hawaii Five-0’ (2018).
Gary Dourdan was last seen in the 2021 Hicham Hajji-directed action thriller film ‘Redemption Day’ in which he played the role of ‘Brad Paxton.’ The film received highly polarizing reviews with some praising the film, while others criticizing it endlessly.
