Brie Larson made her TV debut in the late-night talk show ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ in 1996. Following her exit from the show in 1998, Larson went on to make brief appearances in television series like ‘To Have & to Hold’ (1998), ‘Touched by an Angel’ (1999), ‘Popular’ (1999), and ‘Then Came You’ (2000). In 2001, she joined the main cast of American television sitcom ‘Raising Dad’ as ‘Emily Stewart.’ She remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2002.
Larson made her big-screen debut with the 2004 American fantasy romantic comedy film ‘13 Going on 30’ directed by Gary Winick. The film received a positive response from critics and was a commercial success. She went on to star in films like ‘Madison’ (2005), ‘Farce of the Penguins’ (2007), ‘House Broken’ (2009), and ‘Just Peck’ (2009). In 2010, she starred as ‘Natalie "Envy" Adams’ in the romantic action comedy film ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ directed by Edgar Wright. While the film opened to positive reviews, it failed to achieve success at the box office.
After starring in films like ‘21 Jump Street’ (2012), ‘Don Jon’ (2013), ‘The Spectacular Now’ (2013), and ‘The Gambler’ (2014). In 2015, Larson starred as Joy "Ma" Newsome in the drama film ‘Room’ directed by Lenny Abrahamson. She earned critical acclaim for her performance and won several awards including an ‘Academy Award,’ ‘BAFTA Award,’ and ‘Golden Globe Award.’ The film received rave reviews upon release and was a commercial success.
The year 2019 saw the release of the American superhero film where Larson played the role of ‘Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel.’ The film received a positive response from critics and was a massive box office success, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of all time. She reprised her role as ‘Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel’ in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ which was also released in 2019.
She made an uncredited cameo appearance as ‘Captain Marvel’ in the 2021 superhero film ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Larson is all set to appear in the upcoming film ‘The Marvels’ directed by Nia DaCosta.
