Cillian Murphy started his career as a rock musician before paving his way in short and independent films and theatre in the late 1990s. He bagged in an ‘Irish Film and Television Award’ in the best actor category and also earned a ‘Golden Globe Award’ nomination for his performance in ‘Breakfast on Pluto.’ He also starred in ‘The Dark Night Trilogy’ where he portrayed Dr. Jonathan Crane.
Some of his other notable works include, ‘Cold Mountain,’ ‘Red Lights,’ ‘Red Eye,’ 28 Days Later,’ ‘Retreat,’ ‘Intermission,’ ‘The Edge of Love,’ ‘In Time,’ ‘The Wind That Shakes The Barley,’ ‘Inception,’ ‘Peacock,’ ‘Sunshine,’ etc. He was awarded with the ‘Drama Desk Award’ and the ‘Irish Times Theatre Award’ for his performance in ‘Misterman.’ He has bagged in two ‘Irish Film and Television Awards’ for ‘Peaky Blinders’, a BBC gangster series where he is seen playing the lead. He has also starred in ‘Dunkrik,’ ‘In the Heart of The Sea,’ ‘Transcendence’ and ‘Anthropoid.’
