Ashlee Simpson is an American actress, singer and a songwriter who started her entertainment career at the age of 15. She is the younger sister of singer and actress Jessica Simpson. She made her first TV show appearance in ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ (2001).
She caught attention of the audience as well as the media when she appeared in TV drama, ‘7th Heaven’ (2002-04) as ‘Cecelia Smith’. She got a major breakthrough when she appeared in her sister’s reality show, ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’ (2003-05).
Her next show ‘The Ashlee Simpson Show’ (2004-05) received good response from the audience and became a hit. She had media’s attention, and it took only a fortnight for her to become a star.
She has also appeared in shows like ‘Saturday Night Live’ (2004-05), ‘CSI: NY’ (2009) and ‘Melrose Place’ (2009-10) where she had a lead role.
She made her movie debut in ‘The Hot Chick’ (2002) and since then has appeared in ‘Undiscovered’ (2005), ‘Pawn Shop Chronicles’ (2013) etc. She couldn't establish herself as an actress.
As a singer, she has given a super-hit album, ‘Autobiography’, and a platinum album ‘I Am Me’ in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
