Andy Whitfield was a Welsh actor, best known for playing ‘Spartacus’ in the American TV series ‘Spartacus: Blood and Sand’ (2010), which is the first season of ‘Spartacus.’ Andy moved to Australia in 1999, and appeared in many Australian TV series, such as ‘All Saints’ (1998-2004), ‘Packed to the Rafters’ (2008-2019), and ‘McLeod's Daughters’ (2001-2009). He made his film debut in an Australian action-horror film titled ‘Gabriel’ (2007). He played the lead in the film. In 2010, he played the character of ‘Cameron Marshall’ in another Australian horror film ‘The Clinic.’ In the same year, he co-created a ‘YouTube’ video titled ‘Time Crisis,’ which was based on the 1995 game of the same name. In 2011, he had an uncredited voice role in the mini-series ‘Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.’ He played ‘Spartacus’ in the series. Andy died in 2011 due to non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
