Traci Lords (aka Nora Louise Kuzma) started her screen-career at 15, earning a name in adult-film industry. After she was found to be underage and her films were banned, Lords turned towards mainstream cinema.
Lords’ debut film was comedy-horror ‘Not of This Earth’ (1988), after her guest-appearance in series ‘Wise Guy.’ She appeared with Johnny Depp in successful comedy-musical ‘Cry Baby’ (1990), which brought her recognition.
Lords appeared in popular TV-series ‘Married…with Children,’ ‘MacGyver,’ ‘Super Force,’ ‘Highlander,’ and movies ‘Shock Them Dead’ (1990), ‘Raw Nerve’ and ‘A Time to Die’ (both 1991). After her successful foray in music-field, she featured in hit series ‘Roseanne,’ ‘Melrose Place,’ ‘Hercules,’ miniseries based on Stephen King’s novel ‘The Tommyknockers’; and also, a cameo in action-film ‘Virtuosity’ (1995) wherein the remix of her song ‘Fallen Angel’ was used as soundtrack.
After featuring in black-comedy ‘Nowhere’ (1997), and starring in thrillers ‘Stir’ (1997), and ‘Boogie Boy’ (1998), she essayed a ‘vampire seductress’ in superhero horror-film ‘Blade’ (1998). Following her guest-appearances in series ‘Nash Bridges,’ and ‘Viper,’ Lords played a recurring role as ‘lawbreaker’ in crime-drama series ‘Profiler’ (1997-1998), and a regular role in sci-fi drama-series ‘First Wave’ (2000-2001).
Lords starred in 2000’s ‘Epicenter’ and romantic-comedy ‘Chump Change,’ the latter fetching her award. She was cast in comedy-film ‘Zack and Miri Make a Porno’ (2008), followed by sci-fi film ‘Princess of Mars’ (2009). Her starrers ‘Au Pair, Kansas’ (2011), and horror-film ‘Excision’ (2012) were premiered at film-festivals, wherein ‘Excision’ earned her accolades.
Lords further appeared in horror-films ‘Devil May Call’ (2013), ‘Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre’ (2016), web-series ‘EastSiders,’ TV-film ‘Nightmare Nurse’ (2016), comedy-series ‘Swedish Dicks’ (2016), films ‘Manipulated’ (2019) and ‘Waking up Dead’ (2021).
