Paul Hogan made his screen debut in the Australian talent-show ‘New Faces’ (1971) and that led to his regular presence on the news-magazine program ‘A Current Affair.’
Hogan wrote, produced, and performed various characters on his own sketch-comedy ‘The Paul Hogan Show’ (1973-1984), earning awards and international recognition.
Hogan appeared in several advertisements, especially successful TV-commercials for Australian tourism, and also for British TV-commercials. He played a ‘WWI soldier’ in the TV-miniseries ‘Anzacs’ (1985).
Hogan co-wrote and starred as ‘Mick ‘Crocodile’ Dundee’ in the immensely successful action-comedy ‘Crocodile Dundee’ (1986), which fetched him world-wide popularity and several accolades, as actor and screenwriter. He co-wrote, produced and starred in sequels ‘Crocodile Dundee-II’ (1988), and later, starred in ‘Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles’ (2001).
Hogan appeared in the comedy-drama ‘Almost an Angel’ (1990), and the Western-comedy ‘Lightning Jack’ (1994), which he also wrote and co-produced. He appeared in the remake of ‘Flipper’ (1996), and the TV-drama ‘Floating Away’ (1998).
Hogan’s next comedy-film ‘Strange Bedfellows’ (2004) was a big hit. He appeared in ‘Charlie & Boots’ (2009), and starred as himself in ‘That’s not My Dog’ (2018), and ‘The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee’ (2020). Excerpts of his live-shows were included in the documentary ‘Hanging with Hoges’ (2014).
