Marc Anthony is an American actor and singer who is known worldwide as the top selling tropical salsa artists of all time. Two-time winner of Grammy award and five time Latin Grammy award, Anthony has sold more than 12 million albums worldwide. He even holds the Guinness World Record as the best-selling tropical/salsa artist and the most number-one albums on the Billboard Tropical Albums year-end charts.
When his singing career had taken off, Anthony made a plunge into acting as well. In mid-1990s, he started his acting career by playing supporting roles in films like ‘Hackers’, ‘Big Night’ and ‘The Substitute’. Together with Rubén Blades and Ednita Nazario, Anthony starred in the stage musical, ‘The Capeman’, which ran for 68 performances. His future filmography includes ‘Bringing Out teh Dead’, ‘In the Time of Butterflies’ and ‘Man on Fire’. His best role came for biographical drama ‘El Cantante’ in which he played the life of salsa music legend Héctor Lavoe, who died in 1993 from AIDS complications. Marc Anthony has starred in several television appearances as well including medical drama ‘Hawthorne’ and reality shows ‘Q'Viva! The Chosen’ and ‘The X Factor’.
