Dean George Cain started his entertainment career with an appearance in the film ‘Elmer’ (1976), then episodes of TV-shows ‘Life Goes On’ (1990) and 1992’s ‘A Different World,’ ‘Grapevine,’ and ‘Beverly Hills 90210.’ Cain featured in his adoptive-father’s directed ‘The Stone Boy’ (1984), then in crime-comedy ‘Best Man’ (1992), among other films.
Cain’s breakthrough was the role as ‘Superman/Clark Kent’ in TV-series ‘Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman’ (1993-1997), which brought in popularity. Through his own production company (Angry Dragon Entertainment) he produced and hosted series ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not’ (2000-2003).
Cain next starred in romantic-comedy-drama ‘The Broken Hearts Club’ (2000), comedy ‘Rat Race’ (2001), mystery-thriller ‘Out of Time’ (2003). He played lead in children’s film ‘Bailey’s Billion$’ (2005) and fact-based made-for-TV crime-film ‘The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story’ (2004), wherein he played the antagonist husband, ‘Scott Peterson.’
Cain starred in Puerto Rican film ‘Flight of Fancy’ (2000) followed by several direct-to-video films including action-film ‘Militia’(2000), sci-fi fantasy ‘For the Cause’ (2000), action-horror ‘New Alcatraz’ (2002). He played lead in several TV-films, ‘Dogboys’ (1998), ‘The Glow’ (2002), ‘Dragon Fighter’ (2003), and also many Christmas films such as ‘Christmas Rush’ (2002), ‘A Christmas Wedding’ (2006), and more.
Cain played recurring roles in comedy-drama series ‘Las Vegas’ (2005-2006), then as ‘Supergirl’s foster father’ in superhero-series ‘Supergirl’ (2015-2016). He starred as ‘Head Coach’ in popular series ‘Hit the Floor’ (2013-2016), and was contestant in reality-competition ‘Stars Earn Stripes’ and dating game-show ‘The Choice’ (both 2012).
His further starrers include disaster-film ‘Post Impact’ (2004), thriller ‘Lost’ (2009), family-drama ‘Ace of Hearts’ (2008), spiritual-drama ‘Heaven’s Door’ (2013), supernatural-horror ‘The Appearing’ (2014), Christian-drama ‘God’s Not Dead’ (2014), vigilante-action ‘Vendetta’ (2015) sci-fi-film ‘The Black Hole’ (2016). He also featured in true-life based drama-film ‘Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer’ (2018), children’s film ‘Andy the Talking Hedgehog’ (2018), and Netflix-series ‘Lady Dynamite’ (2016).
Cain received accolades for his performance in ‘2050’ (2018), indie-film ‘The Incantation’ (2018), and biopic ‘Break Every Chain’ (2021).
