Daisy Ridley began her career with the television medical drama series ‘Casualty’ in 2013. That same year, she appeared in 2 other television series named ‘Youngers’ and 'Toast of London.’ After appearing in a number of short films, including ‘Lifesaver’ (2013), ‘Blue Season’ (2013), and ‘Under’ (2014), Ridley made her official big-screen debut in the 2015 supernatural horror-thriller film ‘Scrawl‘ directed by Peter Hearn. That same year, she got her breakthrough role as ‘Rey’ in the epic space opera film ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’ Ridley received global recognition for her role and won ‘Empire Award,’ ‘Saturn Award,’ and ‘Teen Choice Award’ for her performance in the film.
In 2016, Ridley gave her voice to the character ‘Taeko Okajima’ in the animated drama film ‘Only Yesterday.’ The year 2017 saw the release of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ the second installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, where Ridley was seen reprising her role as ‘Rey.’ The film was a massive box office success and was the highest-grossing film of 2017. After starring in films like ‘Ophelia’ (2018) and ‘Peter Rabbit’ (2018), Ridley returned as ‘Rey’ in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,’ the third installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
Daisy Ridley was last seen in the 2021 dystopian action film ‘Chaos Walking’ directed by Doug Liman. While the film opened to a mixed reception, it failed miserably at the box office. Ridley is all set to appear in the Neil Burger-directed upcoming psychological thriller film ‘The Marsh King's Daughter.’
