In 2018, King returned to play the role of ‘Caroline Forbes’ in the American fantasy supernatural drama television series ‘The Originals.’ The series was a spin-off of ‘The Vampire Diaries.’ In 2019, she appeared in the Episode: "Home" of the American science fiction comedy-drama television series ‘The Orville.’ She next starred as ‘Kimberly’ in the 2020 American romantic drama film ‘After We Collided’ directed by Roger Kumble. The film was panned by critics and gained an approval rating of 13% on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2021, she did a voice-over in the Episode: "Salvatore: The Musical!" of the American fantasy drama television series ‘Legacies’ created by Julie Plec. King was last seen in the 2021 Television film ‘Christmas in Tune’ where she played the role of ‘Belle.’
