Ana de la Reguera first appeared in the Mexican telenovela ‘Azul’ in 1996. She went on to appear in television series like ‘Pueblo chico, infierno grande’ (1997), ‘Desencuentro’ (1997-1998), and ‘Tentaciones’ (1998), before making her big-screen debut in the 2000 Mexican road movie ‘Dust to Dust,’ directed by Juan Carlos de Llaca. She continued to star in films like ‘Un secreto de Esperanza’ (2002), ‘Ladies' Night’ (2003), ‘El Caco’ (2006), ‘Así del precipicio’ (2006), ‘Sultanes del Sur’ (2007), ‘Paraiso Travel’ (2008), ‘Backyard’ (2009), ‘Cop Out’ (2010), and ‘Hidalgo: La historia jamás contada’ (2010).
In 2011, she played the role of ‘Maria’ in the American science fiction Western action film ‘Cowboys & Aliens,’ directed by Jon Favreau. The film received a mixed response from critics and was a box office disappointment. In 2014, she starred as ‘Rosaura’ in the American supernatural horror film ‘Jessabelle,’ directed by Kevin Greutert. The film generated a lukewarm response from critics and received a 28% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That same year, she also voiced ‘Carmen Sánchez’ in the Jorge R. Gutierrez-directed American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy comedy film ‘The Book of Life.’ The film opened to a positive reception and grossed over $100 million on a budget of $50 million.
In 2017, she joined the cast of the American crime drama television series ‘Power,’ by Courtney A. Kemp. She played the role of ‘Alicia Jimenez’ and remained a part of the show until 2020. She also appeared in films ‘Collisions’
(2018), ‘Army of the Dead’ (2021), ‘The Forever Purge’ (2021), and ‘The King of All the World’ (2021). She was last seen in the 2021 Matthias Schweighöfer-directed heist comedy film ‘Army of Thieves’ where she made an uncredited appearance as ‘Maria Cruz.’ The film holds a 68% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
