Adelaide Kane began her career right from the age of three. She initially appeared in various plays, including `The Wizard of Oz` (2000) and `Our Day Out` (2004). Kane made her television debut in 2007 with the soap opera ‘Neighbours.’ She played the role of ‘Lolly Allen’ which earned her a ‘Logie Award’ nomination for ‘Most Popular New Female Talent.’ In 2009, she starred as Tenaya 7/15’ in the seventeenth season of the television series ‘Power Rangers’ titled ‘Power Rangers RPM.’ She was next seen in the television film ‘Secrets of the Mountain’ directed by Douglas Barr.
Adelaide Kane made her big-screen debut in the 2011 horror film ‘Donner Pass.’ In 2012, she starred as ‘Aubrey’ in the comedy-drama film ‘Goats.’ The film received mostly negative reviews from critics with some calling it a bland dramedy. The following year, Kane got her breakthrough role as ‘Zoey Sandin’ in the James DeMonaco-directed dystopian action horror film ‘The Purge.’ While the film received unfavorable reviews from critics, it managed to become a massive commercial success, earning close to $90 million against a budget of $3 million. Kane reprised her role as ‘Zoey Sandin’ in ‘The First Purge’ (2018) which again met with tremendous success at the box office.
In 2013, Kane grabbed the lead role of ‘Mary, Queen of Scots,’ in the historical romantic drama television series ‘Reign.’ The critics had mixed views about the series. While they commended the acting and costume design, the critics criticized the several inaccuracies in the series in context to the actual history. Adelaide remained a part of the series till 2017. In 2020, she made a guest appearance in the drama television series ‘This Is Us.’ Adelaide Kane was last seen in the 2021 science fiction action film ‘Cosmic Sin.’ She is all set to appear in the upcoming short film titled ‘Arcana.’ Kane is also the executive producer of the film.
Goats is a comedy drama film which tells the story of a teen boy Ellis, who leaves his comfortable home, to begin his freshman year at Gates Academy. He soon makes new friends and finds himself attracted to a girl working in the local library, who is rumored to be quite promiscuous.
The dystopian horror movie follows the Sandin family as they try to survive a night of the ‘Purge’. The 'Purge' refers to a night when all crime is legal for 12 hours in the USA and all emergency services are unavailable. Brutal violence follows as USA descends into absolute anarchy.
