Shashi Kapoor was an Indian actor and recipient of four National Film Awards. He made his debut as a lead actor in ‘Dharmputra’ (1961) which was not a commercial success. He later went on to become the top actor of the 1960s, 70s and mid-80s with his roles in the hit films 'Waqt' (1964), 'Jab Jab Phool Khile' (1965), 'Aamne Samne' (1967), 'Haseena Maan Jayegi' (1968), 'Pyar Ka Mausam' (1969), 'Ek Shrimaan Ek Shrimati' (1969),'Abhinetri' (1970), 'Suhana Safar' (1970),'Aa Gale Lag Jaa' (1973), 'Paap Aur Punya' (1974), 'Chor Machaye Shor' (1974), 'Deewaar' (1975),'Kabhie Kabhie' (1976),'Shankar Dada' (1976), 'Deewaangee' (1976),'Trishul' (1978), 'Apna Khoon' (1978), 'Do Aur Do Paanch' (1980), 'Kalyug' (1981), 'Baseraa' (1981) and 'Bezubaan' (1982).
