Nargis Dutt, born Fatima Rashid, was an Indian actress who was a part of classic Bollywood era. She is best known for her role as ‘Radha’ in the ‘Academy-Award’ nominated film ‘Mother India’ (1957). She also won a ‘Filmfare Award’ for her stunning performance in the film. Nargis made her film debut at the age of 5, in the film ‘Talash-E-Haq’ (1935). She starred as an actress in the film ‘Tamanna’ in 1942, which set her career in Bollywood.  In her long acting career, she starred in numerous hit films, such as ‘Barsaat’ (1949), ‘Shree 420’ (1955), ‘Chori Chori’ (1956), and ‘Raat Aur Din’ (1967), for which she won a ‘National Film Award for Best Actress.’ She gave up her film career after getting married to her ‘Mother India’ co-star Sunil Dutt.Â
