Kelly Ripa started her career with local TV gigs before she appeared as a dancer on the American dance television show ‘Dance Party USA’ in 1986. She remained on the show until it went off-air in June 1992. In 1990, Ripa joined the cast of the American television soap opera ‘All My Children.’ She played the role of ‘Hayley Vaughan’ on the show which earned her the ‘Soap Opera Digest Award’ for ‘Outstanding Younger Lead Actress.’ She stayed on the show till 2002.
In 2001, she became a part of the American syndicated morning talk show ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ as a co-host. She is still a part of the show and has won 5 ‘Daytime Emmy Awards’ for her performance as a host. Ripa bagged another ‘Daytime Emmy Award’ during her time as a host on the American television special ‘Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade’ (2001-2009). She starred as ‘Faith Fairfield’ in the American television sitcom ‘Hope & Faith’ in 2003. The show aired 73 episodes and ran from September 2003 to May 2006.
Ripa went on to appear in television series and shows like ‘Duck Dodgers’ (2005), ‘1-800-Missing’ (2005), ‘The Knights of Prosperity’ (2007), ‘Ugly Betty’ (2008), ‘Damages’ (2009), ‘Brothers & Sisters’ (2009), ‘The Marriage Ref’ (2010), ‘Hannah Montana’ (2011), ‘30 Rock’ (2011), and ‘Broad City’ (2015). In 2016, she became a part of the CNN television special ‘CNN Heroes’ as a co-host. She was last seen in the 2020 romantic comedy film ‘The Stand In’ directed by Jamie Babbit. The film opened to negative reviews from critics.
