Hwang Jung-eum made her acting debut in the 2005 South Korean television series ‘Princess Lulu’ where she made a cameo appearance as ‘Mi-so.’ That same year, she also made an appearance in the South Korean mini-drama series ‘Banjun Drama.’ She next appeared in television series like ‘The Person I Love’ (2007), ‘Winter Bird’ (2007), ‘Last Scandal’ (2008), and ‘East of Eden’ (2008). Jung-eum made her silver screen debut in the 2009 South Korean-Japanese film ‘The Relation of Face, Mind and Love’ directed by Lee Jang-soo. The same year, she also played the role of ‘Hwang Jung-eum’ in the South Korean situation comedy series ‘High Kick Through the Roof.’ Jung-eum won several awards, including the ‘Korea Drama Award,’ for her performance in the show. In 2010, she joined the cast of the South Korean television series ‘Giant’ as ‘Lee Mi-joo.’ The show aired a total of 60 episodes. Jun-eum also received 2 ‘SBS Drama Awards’ and a ‘Grimae Award’ for her portrayal of Lee Mi-joo in the series. She was next seen in television series like ‘Listen to My Heart’ (2011), ‘High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged’ (2011), ‘Golden Time’ (2012), ‘Full House Take 2’ (2012), ‘Incarnation of Money’ (2013), ‘Potato Star 2013QR3’ (2013), ‘Secret Love’ (2013), and ‘Endless Love’ (2014).
In 2015, she became a part of the South Korean television series ‘Kill Me, Heal Me’ created by Han Hee. Jung-eum played the role of ‘Oh Ri-jin’ in the series which earned her 4 ‘MBC Drama Awards’ along with the ‘Seoul International Drama Award.’ That same year, she also appeared in the South Korean television series ‘She Was Pretty’ where she portrayed ‘Kim Hye-jin / Jackson.’ The series was a major success and inspired remakes in 7 different languages. She was next seen in ‘Lucky Romance’ (2016), ‘The Undateables’ (2018), and ‘Mystic Pop-up Bar’ (2020). Jung-eum was last seen in the 2020 South Korean television series ‘Men Are Men’ directed by Choi Yoon-suk and Lee Ho.
