Emily V. Gordon was a practicing therapist before she embarked upon her career as a producer, writer and podcast host. She is best-known for co-writing romantic comedy film, ‘The Big Sick,’ for which she earned an ‘Academy Award’ and ‘Critics’ Choice Movie Awards’ nomination, besides winning the ‘Independent Spirit Award’ for ‘Best First Screenplay.’
She is also the writer of two Disney webseries - ‘ExploreD’ and ‘Power Up’ - aimed at teenagers.
Some of her other popular and notable works include NBC television series, ‘The Carmichael Show,’ ‘The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail,’ and ‘The Indoor Kids.’ Gordon is signed to adapt Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney’s bestselling novel ‘The Nest’ for Amazon’s film studio.
