Dinah Shore was a well-known American actress and singer, best known for hosting TV program ‘The Dinah Shore Show’ (1951-1957) on ‘NBC.’ This was followed by many shows, based on her own name, such as ‘The Dinah Shore Chevy Show ‘ (1956-1961), ‘Dinah's Place’ (1970-1974), ‘Dinah!’ (1974-1979), ‘Dinah and Friends’ (1979-1980), and ‘Dinah and Her New Best Friends’ (1976). She won an ‘Emmy Award’ for these shows. Her other TV appearances came in shows such as ‘Ed Sullivan Show’ (1960), ‘Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman’ ‘(1976), ‘Alice’ (1979), and ‘Murder, She Wrote’ (1989), which was also her last on-screen appearance. She made her film debut in ‘Thank You Luck Stars’ (1943) as herself. Her other films are ‘Up in Arms’ (1944), ‘Aaron Slick from Punkin Crick (1952) , ‘A Great New Star’ (1952), and ‘HealthH’ (1980). She was also the first solo singer of her time to achieve massive success.
When Danny is drafted in the US Army, his best friend, Joe, also gets himself drafted. As they set sail for South Pacific, they find that their friends, Virginia and Mary, have also enlisted as nurses. During the voyage, Danny smuggles in Mary and is sent to the brig for it. The story then goes on to narrate how he dupes Japanese soldiers to surrender and becomes a hero.
Oh, God is a fantasy comedy film which tells the story of Jerry Landers, a hard working assistant manager working at a supermarket, who lives an uneventful life with his wife Bobbie Landers and their two kids. His life takes a turn when God Almighty appears in his life as a good natured old man. He decides to make Jerry his messenger for the modern world.
A Hollywood actor, who is a former vaudeville performer, tries to enlist in the army after the Second World War breaks out, but is refused due to his knee. He eventually finds himself organizing the Hollywood Victory Committee, an association of motion picture, theatrical and radio personalities, dedicated to help the efforts of the war.
Aaron is a shy farm-boy who is attracted to his next-door neighbor. However, she wants to leave the village and go to the big city. Things soon take a turn when she is targeted by gangsters from the city, who wants her farm for its oil. Now it is up to Aaron to rescue her.
Bongo is an animated comedy short film, which tells the story of a performing bear, who escapes from the circus, and tries to adapt to life in the wild.
This animated adventure anthology musical film tells us two different stories. The first story is about a circus bear who receives the Call of the Wild, i.e. the urge to return to the forests. Eventually, he manages to escape, but life in the wild is unfortunately not as idealistic as he had expected. The second story is a Disney version of the well-known story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy in the main roles.
