Corey made a noticeable appearance in several episodes of the Canadian series, ‘The Edison Twins’ (1982). He made his film debut in 1984, with ‘Moving In’ (1984). He portrayed a young child caught up in a family feud. Thereafter, he starred in the TV movie, ‘A Time to Live’ (1985) (he received a ‘Young Artist Award’ for this role), and appeared in two comedy films, ‘Secret Admirer’ (1985) and ‘Murphy's Romance’ (1985). He played the leading role in the Stephen King werewolf film, ‘Silver Bullet’ (1985). He appeared alongside Kerri Green and Winona Ryder in ‘Lucas’ (1986), and received praise for his acting abilities.
The year 1987 proved to be a breakthrough one when he played Sam Emerson, in ‘The Lost Boys’ (1987). Thereafter, he starred in the comedy films ‘License to Drive’ (1988) and ‘Dream a Little Dream’ (1989), followed by a horror movie ‘Watchers’ (1988), and the sci-fi action drama, ‘Prayer of the Rollerboys’ (1990).
In the 1990s and 2000s, he appeared in several direct-to-video films. He had a cameo in ‘Crank 2: High Voltage’ (2009).
The last two films of Corey’s life were ‘The Hostage Game’ (2010) and ‘Decisions’ (2011).
