Tommy Cooper was a British prop comedian, actor, and magician. His signature prop was the red fez. Tommy was majorly influenced by ‘Laurel and Hardy,’ Bob Hope, and Robert Orben before he found his first break as a second –spot comedian in a show that starred sand dance act Marqueeze. After touring for two years, he started doing cabaret at the ‘Windmill Theatre.’ He became popular in no time. He made his debut on the ‘BBC’ show ‘New to You’ in 1948. Between 1960 and 1980, he became one of the most popular comedians in the world. He was seen in TV shows, such as ‘After Hours’ (1959), ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’ (1963), ‘Coopernama’ (1966), and ‘Cooper’ (1975). In 1967, he was seen in hit comedy film ‘The Plank. ‘He also appeared in a few unsuccessful films, such as ‘And the Same to You’ (1960) and ‘The Cool Mikado’ (1963)..
