Sybil Danning made her debut in the 1968 comedy film ‘Komm nur, mein liebstes Vögelein’ directed by Rolf Thiele. She went on to star in films like ‘Liebesmarkt in Dänemark’ (1971), ‘Hausfrauen-Report’ (1971), ‘Holiday Report’ (1971), ‘Lover of the Great Bear’ (1971), ‘Eye in the Labyrinth’ (1972), ‘Gelobt sei, was hart macht’ (1972), and ‘The Red Queen Kills Seven Times’ (1972). In 1972, she starred in the Edward Dmytryk-directed film ‘Bluebeard’ where she played the role of a prostitute. The critics were largely unimpressed by the film with Kevin Thomas of the Los Angeles Times describing it as a "123 minutes of unrelieved boredom and morbidity." The following year, she starred as ‘Eugenie’ in the Richard Lester-directed film, ‘The Three Musketeers.’ The film garnered praise from critics and grossed over $10.1 million on a $4.5 million budget. She next starred in ‘The Four Musketeers’ (1974), ‘The Secret Carrier’ (1975), ‘God's Gun’ (1976), ‘Whispering Death’ (1976), ‘Operation Thunderbolt’ (1977), ‘The Concorde ... Airport '79’ (1979), ‘Cuba Crossing’ (1980), ‘Battle Beyond the Stars’ (1980), ‘The Salamander’ (1981), ‘S.A.S. à San Salvador’ (1983), and ‘Chained Heat’ (1983). In 1983, she portrayed ‘Adriana’ in the Italian-American science fantasy adventure film ‘Hercules’ directed by Luigi Cozzi. Despite receiving a lukewarm response from critics, the film managed to gross over $11 million on a $6 million budget.
Danning was next seen in films like ‘They're Playing with Fire’ (1984), ‘Malibu Express’ (1985), ‘Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf’ (1985), ‘The Tomb’ (1986), ‘Reform School Girls’ (1986), ‘Amazon Women on the Moon’ (1987), ‘The Phantom Empire’ (1988), ‘L.A. Bounty’ (1989), ‘Pale Blood’ (1990), ‘Grindhouse’ (2007), ‘Jump!’ (2008), and ‘Imps*’ (2009). She was last seen in the 2010 sci-fi horror film ‘Virus X’ where she played the role of Danita Herrington. The film received mostly negative reviews from critics.
