Regina Cassandra works primarily in Tamil and Telugu films. She started her career as an anchor of the kids’ channel called ‘Splash.’ Her first appearance on the big screen was in the Tamil romantic comedy film ‘Kanda Naal Mudhal’ (2005) where she played the role of ‘Latha.’ Regina next appeared in the 2006 movie ‘Azhagiya Asura,’ directed by Nagu. The film received positive reviews but did not do well at the box office.Â
In 2010, Regina Cassandra starred in the Kannada movie ‘Suryakaanti’, making her Kannada film debut. The film received a mixed response from the critics. She went on to make her Telugu film debut in the 2012 romantic comedy film ‘Siva Manasulo Sruthi.’ Regina played the role of ‘Shruti’ for which she earned the ‘SIIMA Award’ for Best Female Debut (Telugu). That same year, she appeared in another Telugu film titled ‘Routine Love Story’ directed by Praveen Sattaru.Â
In 2013, she starred in the Pandiraj-directed comedy film ‘Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga.’ The film opened to a mixed reception from critics. She received positive reviews for her performance in the Telugu film ‘Kotha Janta’ and ‘Power’ which released in 2014. Thereafter, Regina Cassandra starred in films like ‘Subramanyam for Sale’ (2015), ‘Soukhyam’ (2015), ‘Shourya’ (2016), ‘Maanagaram’ (2017), ‘Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum’(2017), ‘Balakrishnudu’ (2017), ‘Mr. Chandramouli’ (2018), and ‘Silukkuvarupatti Singam’ (2018).Â
Regina Cassandra made her Hindi film debut in ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ (2019). The film opened to positive reviews but was a moderate success at the box office. Her next release that year was the mystery thriller film ‘7’ directed by Nizar Shafi.Â
In 2021, Regina Cassandra had 5 releases, including ‘Chakra,’ ‘Nenjam Marappathillai,’ ‘Kasada Thapara,’ ‘Thalaivii,’ and ‘Mughizh.’ She will be next seen in the Caarthick Raju-directed historical mystery film ‘Soorpanagai.’
