Ramya Krishnan, who has acted in five Indian languages, first worked in the Malayalam-language film ‘Neram Pularumbol’ (1986), but her Tamil-language film ‘Vellai Manasu’ (1985) was released first.
Krishnan’s notable Tamil-language films are ‘Ammoru’ (1995), ‘Padayappa’ (1999), ‘Pattali’ (1999), ‘Panchatanthiram’ (2002), ‘Jaya’ (2002), ‘Super Deluxe’ (2019), and ‘Thaana Serndha Koottam’ (2018), for which she won nominations.
The noteworthy Telugu-language films Krishnan starred in are ‘Madana Gopaludu’ (1987), acclaimed ‘Sutradharulu’ (1989), ‘Allari Priyadu’ (1993), ‘Annamayya’ (1997). She won nominations/awards for ‘Kante Koothurne Kanu’ (1998), ‘Raju Maharaju’ (2008), ‘Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam’ (2009), ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ (2015), and ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ (2017).
Krishnan’s Kannada-language films include ‘Krishna Rukmini’ (1988), ‘Gadibidi Ganda’ (1993), ‘Mangalyam Tantunanena’ (1998), ‘Neelambari’ (2001), ‘Sweety Nanna Jodi’ (2013) fetched nominations.

Krishnan made her Hindi-language film debut with a song-sequence in ‘Dayavan’ (1988) and acting debut in ‘Parampara’ (1993). She starred in ‘Criminal’ (1995), ‘Chaahat’ (1996), ‘Loha’ (1997), ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ (1998) and more.
Krishnan starred in the TV-series ‘Kalasam’ (2008-2009), ‘Arumugam’ (2009), ‘Kutti Pisasu,’ ‘Raja Kumari’ (2013). Her performance in the streaming-series ‘Queen’ (2019) fetched her acclaim.
