Katherine McNamara made her debut in the 2008 family drama film ‘Matchmaker Mary’ directed by Tom Whitus. In 2011, she made her first television appearance in the Episode: "Flight" of the American crime drama television series ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.’ She went on to appear in television series like ‘30 Rock’ (2011), ‘Drop Dead Diva’ (2011), ‘Kickin' It’ (2012-2013), ‘Glee’ (2012), ‘Girl vs. Monster’ (2012), ‘Touch’ (2013), ‘Jessie’ (2013), ‘The Haunting Hour: The Series’ (2013), and ‘The Thundermans’ (2013). In 2014, she joined the voice cast of the animated television series ‘Transformers: Rescue Bots.’ She voiced the character ‘Priscilla Pynch’ and remained a part of the series until 2016.
In 2015, she starred as ‘Sonya’ in the American dystopian science fiction film ‘Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials’ directed by Wes Ball. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film did remarkably well at the box office, grossing over $312.3 million against a budget of $61 million. The following year, she joined the main cast of the American supernatural drama television series ‘Shadowhunters.’ McNamara’s performance as ‘Clary Fray’ in the series earned her the ‘People's Choice Award’ and ‘Teen Choice Award.’ ‘Shadowhunters’ aired its final episode in May 2019. In 2018, she starred as ‘Mia Smoak’ in the American superhero television series ‘Arrow.’ She remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2020. McNamara reprised her role as ‘Mia Smoak’ in ‘Supergirl’ (2019), ‘Batwoman’ (2019), and ‘The Flash’ (2019, 2021).
She was last seen in the 2021 American horror comedy film ‘Untitled Horror Movie’ directed by Nick Simon. The film earned a positive response from critics. McNamara is all set to appear in the upcoming American spy-thriller film ‘Agent Game’ directed by Grant S. Johnson. She will also be seen in the upcoming comedy film ‘El Tonto’ directed by Charlie Day.
