Joe Wright is an English Film director, best known for directing critically-acclaimed films, such as ‘Pride & Prejudice’ (2005), ‘Atonement’ (2007), ‘The Soloist’ (2009), ‘Hannah’ (2011), and ‘Pan’ (2015). He made his directorial debut in the short film ‘Crocodile Snap,’ in 1997. His first feature film direction came in ‘Pride & Prejudice,’ which earned him a number of accolades, including a ‘BAFTA’ for ‘Most Promising Newcomer’ and nominations in ‘London Film Critics' Circle ‘ and ‘Empire Awards.’ He earned another ‘BAFTA’ nomination for ‘Best Direction’ for his next film ‘Atonement. ‘His third ‘BAFTA’ nomination came for the British historical drama ‘Anna Karenina,’ in 2012. In 2017, his film ‘The Darkest Hour’ won the ‘Academy Award’ and ‘BAFTA’ for Best Actor in Leading Role.’ He has also directed a few episodes of TV shows, such as ‘Nature Boy’ (2000), ‘Bodily Harm’ (2002), and ‘Black Mirror’ (2016).Â
