Jessica Jung (Born Jessica Sooyoun Jung) started her entertainment career as member of the Korean girl-group ‘Girls’ Generation,’ after being a trainee for 7 years at ‘SM Entertainment.’
Jung made acting debut in theatrical production of musical ‘Legally Blonde’ (2009). She appeared in cameo roles in TV-sitcom ‘Unstoppable Marriage’ (2008), and romantic-comedy series ‘Oh! My Lady’ (2010), besides entertainment program ‘Infinite Challenge’ (2009). She also made guest-appearances on TV-shows ‘Happy Birthday,’ and ‘Star King.’
Jung’s first acting assignment was as ‘Kang’ in romantic-comedy TV-series ‘Wild Romance’ (2012) wherein she also rendered a song. In 2012, she appeared in documentary-film ‘I Am’ about singers of ‘SM Town.’
Along with sister Krystal, Jung starred in their own reality-variety show ‘Jessica & Krystal’ (2014). She had a starring role in Chinese romantic-comedy film ‘I Love that Crazy Little Thing’ (2016) in which she was co-singer of the theme-song. Next, she starred alongside American Basketball player and head-coach of ‘Beijing Royal Fighters’ Stephon Marbury in his autobiographical film ‘My Other Home’ (2017).
Further, Jung featured in action-comedy ‘Two Bellmen Three’ (2017). She was a participant of Chinese sports-variety show ‘Yes Coach’ for which she was trained by Chinese Olympic swimmer Sun Yang. She co-hosted show ‘Beauty Bible’ (2016) and with sister Krystal, hosted second reality-variety show ‘Jessica & Krystal – US Road-Trip’ in 2021.
