Jang Na-ra made her acting debut in the South Korean sitcom ‘Nonstop’ in 2001. The following year, she made her first big-screen appearance in the Danish-German-Irish traditionally animated science fantasy musical film ‘Help! I'm a Fish,’ directed by Stefan Fjeldmark, Michael Hegner, and Greg Manwaring. The film was a commercial failure. That same year, she also portrayed ‘Cha Yang-soon’ in the South Korean television series ‘Successful Story of a Bright Girl,’ directed by Jang Ki-hong. The series aired a total of 16 episodes. Na-ra also won the ‘Baeksang Arts Award’ for her performance in the show.
She was next seen in television series like ‘Hello! Balbari’ (2003), ‘Nonstop 4’ (2004), ‘Silver Love’ (2004), ‘Banjun Drama’ (2005), ‘Wedding’ (2005), ‘Good Morning Shanghai’ (2007), ‘Iron Masked Singer’ (2010), and ‘Unruly Qiao’ (2011). Na-ra became a recipient of the ‘KBS Drama Award’ for her portrayal of ‘Lee So-young’ in the 2011 South Korean television series ‘Baby Faced Beauty,’ directed by Lee Jin-seo and Lee So-yeon. The series was originally planned for 18 episodes but was extended by 2 more episodes due to its popularity. In 2012, she joined the cast of the South Korean television series ‘School 2013’ as Jung In-jae. The series aired 16 episodes before going off-air in 2013.
Na-ra continued to appear in television series and shows such as ‘You Are My Destiny’ (2014), ‘Mr. Back’ (2014), ‘Hello Monster’ (2015), ‘One More Happy Ending’ (2016), ‘Confession Couple’ (2017), ‘The Last Empress’ (2018), ‘VIP’ (2019), and ‘Oh My Baby’ (2020). She was last seen playing the role of ‘Hong Ji-ah’ in the 2021 South Korean television series ‘Sell Your Haunted House,’ directed by Park Jin-seok.
