Dulquer Salmaan is an Indian actor who works mostly in Malayalam cinema. He has also appeared in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. He made his debut in the Malayalam action crime film ‘Second Show’ (2012) in which he portrayed a gangster. Though the movie received mixed reviews, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his performance. His next film ‘Ustad Hotel’, which was released the same year, won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. However, ‘Theevram’ (2012) failed at the box office. The following year he appeared in the Malayalam movie ‘ABCD: American Born Confused Desi’ in which he was also the playback singer for the number ‘Jonny Mone Jonny’. Salmaan made his debut in Tamil cinema with his role as Aravind in the romantic comedy ‘Vaayai Moodi Pesavum,’ in 2014. He ventured into Telugu and Hindi cinema in 2018 with his appearance in ‘Mahanati’ and ‘Karwaan’ respectively. In 2019, he appeared in Hindi film ‘The Zoya Factor.’ He is slated to appear in the Malyalam film ‘Kurup.’
