Trivikram Srinivas made his debut as a dialogue writer in the 1999 Telugu-language romantic comedy-drama film ‘Swayamvaram,’ directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar. Srinivas was also one of the writers of the film. He then wrote dialogues for several films, including ‘Samudram’ (1999), ‘Ninne Premistha’ (2000), ‘Nuvve Kavali’ (2000), ‘Chiru Navvuto’ (2000), ‘Nuvvu Naaku Nachav’ (2001), and ‘Vasu’ (2002).
Srinivas made his directorial debut in the 2002 Telugu-language romance film ‘Nuvve Nuvve.’ He was also the writer of the movie. ‘Nuvve Nuvve’ opened to positive reviews from critics and Srinivas bagged the ‘Nandi Award’ for ‘Best Dialogue Writer.’ That same year, he also wrote the Telugu-language romantic comedy film ‘Manmadhudu’ which earned massive praise from the critics and audience.
In 2004, he co-wrote the Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy film ‘Malliswari’ directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar. He also wrote the dialogues of the film which earned him the ‘Nandi Award.’ He returned to the director’s chair for the 2005 Indian Telugu-language action film ‘Athadu.’ The film received a mixed response from critics and was a major financial success. Srinivas also bagged ‘Filmfare Award’ for ‘Best Director’ – Telugu for ‘Athadu.’ He went on direct films like ‘Jalsa’ (2008), ‘Khaleja’ (2010), ‘Julai’ (2012), and ‘Attarintiki Daredi’ (2013) which earned him the ‘Filmfare Award’ for ‘Best Director’ and ‘SIIMA Award’ for ‘Best Director.’ In 2015, he directed the Indian Telugu-language drama film ‘S/O Satyamurthy.’ The film earned mostly positive reviews from critics and was a financial success.
In 2016, he directed the Telugu-language romantic family drama film ‘A Aa.’ The film garnered positive reviews from critics who praised the direction of Srinivas. ‘A Aa’ was also a major box office success, becoming one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2016. Srinivas last directed the 2020 Indian Telugu-language action drama film ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.’ The film opened to critical acclaim and was a major commercial success, grossing over ₹262 crores against a budget of ₹100 crores. Srinivas has written the screenplay of the upcoming Indian Telugu-language action thriller film ‘Bheemla Nayak,’ directed by Saagar K Chandra.
