Son Ye-jin was first seen on-screen in the 2000 fantasy drama film ‘Secret Tears’ where she voiced ‘Jung Mi-jo.’ In 2001, she starred as ‘Jang Hee-ae’ in the South Korean television series, ‘Delicious Proposal.’ That same year, she also appeared in the television miniseries, ‘Sun-hee and Jin-hee’ where she played the role of ‘Shim Sun-hee.’ She next starred as ‘So-woon’ in the 2002 South Korean drama film ‘Chi-hwa-seon’ directed by Im Kwon-taek. The following year, she portrayed ‘Ji-hye / Joo-hee’ in the South Korean romance melodrama film ‘The Classic’ directed by Kwak Jae-yong. The film received mostly positive reviews from critics with many praising the performance of Ye-jin. She also received several awards including the ‘Grand Bell Award’ and the ‘Blue Dragon Film Award’ for her role. That same year, she also joined the cast of the South Korean television series ‘Summer Scent’ where she portrayed Shim Hye-won. The series aired a total of 20 episodes. She next starred in films like ‘A Moment to Remember’ (2004), ‘April Snow’ (2005), ‘The Art of Seduction’ (2005), ‘Yobi, the Five Tailed Fox’ (2007), ‘Open City’ (2008), ‘My Wife Got Married’ (2008), ‘White Night’ (2009), ‘Spellbound’ (2011), ‘The Tower’ (2012), ‘Blood and Ties’ (2013), ‘The Pirates’ (2014), ‘Bad Guys Always Die’ (2015), and ‘The Truth Beneath’ (2016).
In 2016, she played the role of ‘Princess Deokhye’ in the South Korean period drama film ‘The Last Princess’ directed by Hur Jin-ho. The film received mostly positive reviews from critics. Ye-jin also became a recipient of several awards, including the ‘Grand Bell Award’ and the ‘Blue Dragon Film Award,’ for her performance in the film. After appearing in films like ‘Be with You’ (2018) and ‘The Negotiation’ (2018), she joined the cast of the South Korean television series ‘Crash Landing on You’ in 2019. She played the role ‘Yoon Se-ri’ and remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2020. She was last seen in the 2022 South Korean television series ‘Thirty-Nine.’
